ASICS Men’s GT-2140 Running Shoe Review

I always assumed that size 12 shoes were naturally wide, since we’re kinda big people. It’s not true. I finally got tired of my ankle turning when walking out in the woods, and I ordered the widest available. Actually, I first ordered Wide — it turns out that’s what most stores sell if you’re getting a size 12. They were exactly the same as my old shoes, so I then ordered the widest form available. This is exactly what I’ve been needing for a long time, in terms of the width.

The only knock on these shoes is that there is not enough of the gel in the soles. Even with my Spenco inserts, my feet hurt if I stand around for several hours at a time (which I do a lot, being a singer). They’re great when I’m moving around, but my feet start to hurt when I stand for too long. This was not a problem in my previous ASICS shoes (can’t tell what model they are, though). For the price, it seems like ASICS has reduced the gel in the soles too much.
